i own a 2007 335xi bmw. it has 81,000 miles on it now. unfortunately, when i bought the car, i didn't realize how many problems this car would actually have. i will be as quick as possible. the high pressure fuel pump has been replaced twice in this car along with the battery cables, both covered under the extended warranty of the car since this car has had so many problems. in feb. when the high pressure fuel pump failed, a authorized bmw replaced the fuel pump no charge or questions asked. they were very nice and the car was running perfect in no time at least i thought it was. a few weeks later i kept hearing a loud rattling noise every time i would turn on the car. then every time i hit the gas and was between 3 and 4 thousand rpm, the engine malfunction and service engine soon light came on. it was to the point where it was almost not drivable. i took the car into service at a different dealer bc i needed a loaner car for work, another authorized bmw dealer. they had the car for two days and claimed that my turbos were blown due to decreased air flow to the engine because of an "outside influence" such as mice of dust. i was pissed and they were going to charge me $6,000 to replace them. finally my dad who used to be a mechanic opened up the car and found a towel that was shoved in between the pipe that must have killed the turbos. it was burnt to a crisp and stuck all in the turbos and pipe. it must have been left there when the dealer replaced the fuel pump my dad now spent $800 in parts and tools and a week fixing my car. it is pretty much back to normal and i am happy he was able to do it for $800 instead of $6,000. my question is now that i notified the dealer what should i do and what should i expect? the turbos are still damaged and they placed my life in danger considering the rag smells like fire and is burnt. i am awaiting the dealer to call me back. im new here and dont know how to respond to answers but all pictures have been taken and documented. i have all original paperwork for when it was serviced and i have the rag too. the rag was left in the air cleaner housing beneath the filter. it was sucked into the front turbo. there is rag lint by the turbo and the rag is burnt. the turbo is also damaged.cost of insurance for a 2007 bmw 335xi?
